Well, I paid Costco a visit yesterday afternoon to get my usual goods and while there I came across the most beautiful bright red strawberries. They were plump, vibrant and beautifully shaped. I just couldn’t resist passing them up to use in my Strawberry Lemonade.
Although I had many recipes on my mind that called for strawberries, strawberry lemonade stood out the most. Yes, it’s the simplest one of many, but it’s one that I love but seldom make. My goodness, the very thought of an ice cold glass of refreshing Strawberry Lemonade, seems like the perfect afternoon beverage.
This strawberry lemonade requires 2 ingredients. I use fresh strawberries and Simply Lemonade which is my favorite brand. It only has a few ingredients and doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup which makes it a healthier option.
The beauty of this simple recipe is that it requires zero effort , only 2 ingredients (juiced strawberries & lemonade), a quick stir and there you have it… strawberry lemonade. It’s best when it’s been chilled in the fridge or poured over a glass of ice. This lovely colored drink will be my go-to drink while I enjoy “me-time” today.
Sooooo, today, I have an opportunity to have some me-time. Yep, just me and the dog, and I’m going to take full advantage. When opportunities like these present itself, I think it’s important to indulge yourself because it make for a happier and renewed you. While I spend this quality time alone, I want to unwind, get some R&R, step away from the computer and just focus on me. I’m going to turn off all devices, sip on an ice cold glass of strawberry lemonade and slow down.
Often times, we do so much mentally and physically as women that we forget about the essence of me time. Remember that me time makes for a happier YOU.
Until next time. My “me time” starts now.
Have a wonderful day.
- 2 cups fresh strawberries juiced
- 3 cups simply lemonade or any store bought brand
In a pitcher, pour 3 cups of Simply Lemonade into a pitcher. Set aside. Juice 2 cups of fresh strawberries, run through a strainer, add strained strawberry juice to pitcher of lemonade. Give a stir.
Place strawberry lemonade in fridge to chill. After it has chilled. Fill glass with ice and pour strawberry lemonade over ice and Enjoy.
You can use any brand of lemonade. I love Simply Lemonade because it only has a few ingredients and does not contain high fructose corn syrup. I made a small pitcher of strawberry lemonade; however, if you're serving more people increase the amounts of both lemonade and fresh strawberries. You can add slice strawberries into each glass for garnish.
