Slow Cooked Black Beans is simple to make and a healthy option. Take out your slow cooker, grab a few ingredients, and cook on high for 3-3.5 hours and ta-da you have tender slow cooked black beans. Eat as a side dish, top on burritos or taco, or have with quinoa... the possibilities are endless.
1tblspkosher salt(more or less (depending on your taste))
½teaspoonwhite pepper(to taste)
½teaspooncumin
5.5 - 6cupschicken broth
1tablespoonfresh garlic(minced)
¼cuponion(chopped finely)
Instructions
In a colander, wash dry black beans thoroughly and pick over your beans and discard any unsightly beans. Transfer beans to your slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, chicken broth, salt, pepper and cumin.
Cook on high and check beans after 3 hours to make sure it has your desired taste and consistency. If it does not have your desired taste or if beans need to soften, cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Serve and enjoy.
