These small but mighty turkey sliders are bursting with flavor and are so easy to make. They're topped with melted mozzarella cheese and sandwiched between slightly toasted Hawaiian rolls drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Italian seasoning.
packHawaiian dinner rolls or slider buns(I used hawaiian slider buns)
In a mixing bowl, add ground turkey, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cooking oil and mix gently using your fingers. Form ground turkey into mini patties. Set aside.
Wash and cut veggies (lettuce, etc). Set aside.
Place rolls/slider buns on a baking sheet. Set aside.
Place saute pan over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil. When hot, sear patties on both sides until patty reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Paying careful attention to not overcook. Cook in batches. Top each patty with a slice of cheese (optional). Cover pan and allow cheese to melt.
Place patties inside slider buns. Brush the top of each slider bun with olive oil and sprinkle the top with Italian seasoning. Place in preheated oven for 3-4 minutes. Remove sliders from oven. Add additional toppings (lettuce, etc).
**Please note: Nutritional values serve as a guide only as values may vary.Nutritional values do not reflect cheese as cheese is optionalTIP:Because ground turkey is a lean meat it needs a little added fat to create a moist texture. I always add either extra virgin olive oil or grapeseed oil to the ground turkey before forming it into a patty. This added fat makes for a tastier and much juicy burger.TIP: Opt for ground turkey with the highest fat content. I always buy ground turkey that's 85% lean. If this option isn't available, I go for ground turkey that's 93% lean. The higher the fat, the more flavorful.
