    Hi there! I'm Cree, the Recipe Developer behind Cooking with Bliss. I share Southern and Soul food recipes inspired by family traditions and the meals I love to cook.

    My approach to cooking is simple:

    • Good ingredients
    • Heavy on the flavor
    • Recipes that actually work in a real home kitchen.

    My Cooking Style

    The way I cook today was shaped by watching the women in my family cook when I was younger.

    They didn't rely on complicated techniques or fancy ingredients. They relied on instinct, patience, and knowing how to build flavor the right way.

    That same mindset still shapes the way I cook today.

    What I Focus On

    Most of the recipes I develop fall into several of my favorite areas:

    • Southern comfort food
    • Soul food classics
    • Oven‑baked beef recipes
    • Southern-style seafood dishes
    • Traditional Southern desserts
    • Flavorful side dishes

    I also enjoy sharing practical cooking techniques that help home cooks get better results, like:

    • Building flavor with aromatics
    • Getting the right texture when baking meat in the oven
    • Layering seasoning so food actually tastes the way it should.

    Recipe Development

    Every recipe shared on Cooking with Bliss is tested in my home kitchen before it's published.

    I develop recipes the same way most home cooks actually cook:

    • Adjusting ingredients
    • Testing cook times
    • Making sure the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

    My motto is that cooking should feel enjoyable, not stressful, and flavor shouldn't be an afterthought.

    My recipes focus primarily on Southern and Soul food cooking, with a strong emphasis on oven-baked meats and flavor-building techniques.

    Fun Facts About Me

    • Although I hold a Master's Degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, I enjoy sharing recipes that were inspired by the Southern and Soul Food cooking I grew up eating, but with my own twist.
    • I can't start cooking until my counters are spotless. I grew up with the "clean as you go" rule, and it stuck with me.
    • I had the chance to chat about juggling a full-time job while running a food blog. It was such a fun conversation. You can check it out here!
